About Us
MeriZuban values language preservation as well as the celebration of culture. Our team wants to ensure that future generations are exposed to the beauty of language.
Our Roots
At one point in time Urdu was the most spoken langue in the Indian sub-continent but it saw consistent decline during British rule in India .The political environment pushed it back further. We saw Urdu be a very rich language and realized it's worth preserving particularly for the people who migrate to USA and find no way to connect back to the culture they left behind and would like their children to have a connection back to the language and culture.
Our efforts to connect Urdu Speaking community leaders and inspire like minded people to invest in preserving a dying language.

About Our Founder
Meri Zubaan means “My Voice” in Urdu. And that’s exactly what we want this non-profit to be: beautiful and authentic, just like our language. In the United States approximately 300,000 people speak Urdu, but with each passing generation those numbers are reported to fall progressively below 100,000. Preservation is key.
Meri Zubaan, a California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, originated from the persisting problems and eventual motivation to revive the language by working with pre existing technology. Our aim is to incorporate certain vowels that are unrecognizable in natural language processing technology and ultimately shine more light on the language.
While it’s going to take more effort to completely revive Urdu and make it prominent once again our hope is that by making this technology available to everyone we can help foster the love and use of Urdu.
